Day Two: Monday, November 4, 2019

  • Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport.
  • Welcome by our representative and assistance with arrival formalities.
  • Enter Tel Aviv, also known as “the city that never sleeps”, with its centers of culture, recreation and national history, great beaches and fine stores.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Welcome dinner and program opening at a local restaurant with your tour educator and Rabbi Levine.

Day Three: Tuesday, November 5, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart the hotel to visit the Old City of Jaffa; ascend from the old port through the renovated alleyways to the Jaffa Overlook for an introduction to Tel Aviv at the place where it all began and walk through the famous Jaffa Flea Market - “Shuk Hapishpeshim”.
  • Explore the Hagana Museum on Rothschild Street;


  • Visit Independence Hall, where David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the State of Israel on May 14th, 1948.
  • Lunch on own.
  • Start-Up Nation: Delve into the world of renowned Israeli inventions and creations at the State of Mind Innovation Center and meet with an up-and-coming start-up entrepreneur.
  • Stroll down the Nachalat Binyamin pedestrian mall, with its bi-weekly craft fair and eateries. Alongside is the colorful Carmel open-air market.
  • Drive to Kfar Saba for an afternoon program with the sister community Kehillat Hod Vehadar.
  • Tikkun Olam hands-on experience preparing food packages for families in Kfar Saba, through Eshel Bakfar or Ohalei Keidar.
  • Return to Tel Aviv for dinner on own and a free evening for an opportunity to:
    • Stroll down Rothschild Boulevard, with its many cafés and bars.
    • Experience Tel Aviv Port, with its restaurants and clubs.
    • Explore the colorful Neve Zedek
    • Saunter down the Tel Aviv Beach Promenade.
    • Wander through the Tachana, Tel Aviv's renovated old train station, now a center of boutiques and good food.

Day Four: Wednesday, November 6, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check out of the hotel.
  • Living the Trauma: Visit Natal - Israel Trauma and Resiliency center, providing nationwide treatment and support for psychological trauma due to terror and war.
  • Depart Tel Aviv and drive along the coast to Caesarea, one of the Land of Israel's most important landmarks, built during the Roman Period. Explore the Herodian Theater and the excavations along the Mediterranean shore, concluding with the ruined 900-year-old Crusader town.
  • Drive to Akko and enjoy lunch on own in the colorful Akko shuk (market).
  • Visit Akko (Acre), a UNESCO Heritage Site, for a multi-layered experience from the days of the Crusades through contemporary Israel, including guided visits to:
    • The restored Crusaders' Fortress.
    • The al-Jazzar Mosque, one of the largest and most interesting in Israel.
    • The Ottoman Fortifications around the city.
  • Drive to Rosh Hanikra, at the northern tip of Israel's Mediterranean coastline. Take a cable-car down to the beautiful sea grottoes, carved out of soft chalk cliffs by eons of wave action.
  • Drive north to the Upper Galilee and check into the kibbutz hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day Five: Thursday, November 7, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Walk through the Tel Dan Nature Reserve, located on the largest tributary of the Jordan River, and explore the ruins of the great Biblical city of Dan.


Take a nature hike to the Suspended Trail above the spectacular canyon of the Banias Stream, at the foot of Mount Hermon.

  • Take a jeep tour off-road up the Golan Heights, following the footsteps of Israeli soldiers and their battles in the Six-Day War.
  • Watch the panoramic views from Bental (overlooking the abandoned Syrian town of Kuneitra) and gain sharp insights into Israel's security situation on the Golan Heights and the enormous challenges it faced in the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
  • Lunch on own, en route.
  • Drive to Tsfat, a center of Jewish mysticism for hundreds of years and a contemporary artists' colony, including:
    • The Ari, Caro or Abuhav Synagogues, each with its great stories and mystical messages, including a text study with Rabbi Levine.
    • The quaint Artists' Colony, its craft shops, and galleries; meet with Sheva Chaya, an artist inspired by Kabbalistic messages.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day Six: Friday, November 8, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out.
  • Visit the Hula Nature Reserve and view Ophoria, a 3D interactive film about Israel's enormous bird migrations. Stroll the swamp trail for beautiful views of the fauna and flora, connecting birds, water and the Zionist endeavor;


  • After passing through Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, visit Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu for an interactive family tour of the Bio-Bee fields and facilities. Gain insight into a local, world leader tackling the challenge of environmental improvement using flies, bees, and owls and experience a real, working and ideological kibbutz.
  • Continue south along the Jordan Valley Rift, stopping for lunch on own, en route.
  • Get a close view of Jordan and visit Kasser Al Yahud, the narrow part of the Jordan River, and stand at the spot traditionally believed as the place of where the baptism of Jesus took place, and the place where the Israelites crossed over the Jordan River entering Israel.
  • Upon entering Jerusalem stop atop of Mount Scopus for an overlook of the Old and New City of Jerusalem and the traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing.
  • Check into the hotel and time to prepare for Shabbat.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services at the Kotel (Western Wall).
  • Festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel with Lone Soldiers.

Day Seven: Saturday, November 9, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Shabbat services at one of the many local Jerusalem synagogues.
  • Lunch at the Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism.
  • Proceed to the Old City for a walk along its ancient Ramparts.
  • Discover more pathways and passages in the Jewish Quarter and take a Shabbat Walkthrough unexpected paths to Zion, the Temple Mount Overlook, and King David's Tomb.
  • Walking tour through the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, for visits to archaeological treasures and other highlights, among them:
    • A walk along the Rooftops of the Old City for a behind-the-scenes look at the various communities in Jerusalem and how they live alongside each other.
    • The Cardo, the main street of Jerusalem in the 6th
    • King Hezekiah's First Temple-period “Broad Wall”.
    • Hurva Square, the central square of the Jewish Quarter.
    • Walk through the Arab shuk (bazaar) and then return to the hotel.
  • The Labyrinth of Israeli Politics: Meet with Reuven Hazan of the Political Science Department at Hebrew University.
  • Ben Kodesh Lechol: Havdallah overlooking the Old City.
  • Free time in the Mamilla pedestrian arcade, a contemporary shopping area with a whiff of the past, located outside the Jaffa Gate of the Old City; dinner on own.
  • Watch the Night Spectacular at the Tower of David Museum: The walls of the Citadel serve as a stage for a night-time show - a celebration of sight and sound depicting the story of Jerusalem.

Day Eight: Sunday, November 10, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

Option 1

  • Descend to the Dead Sea Basin.
  • Ascend by cable car to Masada, Herod's mountain palace and the site of the Jewish Zealots' last stand against the Roman Legionnaires. Discuss Masada's role as a symbol of Jewish defense and its current significance in modern Israel.
  • Spend the day floating in the Dead Sea, use the spa facilities of one of the Dead Sea hotels and enjoy a buffet lunch.
  • Visit Qumran and explore the area where the Dead Sea Sect established a community, view the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
  • Return to Jerusalem.

Option 2

  • Visit the National Military Cemetery on Herzl to recall landmark events in modern Israeli history in which these soldiers gave their lives. Follow with a visit to the graves of Theodor Herzl, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres in the adjacent section for Leaders of the Nation.


  • Educating for Peace & Coexistence: Dialogue with Kids4Peace
  • Enjoy a night out and dinner on own, perhaps at the Old Train Station Plaza, with its fashionable restaurants featuring local and international cuisine.

Day Nine: Monday, November 11, 2019

  • Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out.
  • Return to the Old City of Jerusalem and explore the Western Wall Tunnel, the underground continuation of the Temple Mount's Western Wall, exposed in recent years.

Option 1 (with a local guide)

  • Visit Yad Vashem, the Jewish National Memorial of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, including the Avenue of the Righteous, the Historical Museum, the Children's Memorial, and a concluding Memorial Service.

Option 2 (with your tour educator)

  • Visit the National Military Cemetery on Herzl to recall landmark events in modern Israeli history in which soldiers gave their lives, and continue to the graves of Theodor Herzl, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres in the section for Leaders of the Nation.


  • Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, with lunch on own.
  • Free time for last minute shopping and exploring.
  • Festive farewell dinner.
  • Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport to check in for the departure flight to the USA.

  • Group rates are per person based on double occupancy and a minimum of 15 full paying participants per bus. Should the number of participants drop below the minimum listed above, we will adjust the cost of the trip to reflect the additional expense of operating the program.
  • Tour prices are per person in U.S. dollars. All hotel accommodations, motor coach transportation, special dinners, sightseeing, admissions, luggage handling and the services of local guides, drivers, and the tour guide/educator are included.
  • Payment Policy
    Da'at Educational Expeditions reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancellation policies and initial deposits. Notification of any changes will be made explicitly to the participants where relevant.
    - Initial deposit of $500 per person, non-refundable, non-transferable is due at the time of reservation unless another amount is indicated for the particular trip or seminar.
    - Final payment is due 90 days before the scheduled trip begins, or as specified in your invoice.
  • Cancellation Policy:
    Cancellations need to be made in writing. Cancellation fees will be based on the date that the written cancellation is received.
    Cancellation fees:
    • 90 days or more prior to departure: the deposit
    • 89 to 46 days prior to departure: 50% of the total trip cost
    • 45 days to the day of departure/no-show: 100% of the total trip cost
      Cancellation fees may also include:
      - Hotel or supplier cancellation fees.
      - For trips in Israel only: The cost of the PEACE OF MIND TRAVEL PROTECTION PROGRAM (POM), if this was purchased.
      - Group airfare penalty fee.
  • Hotel Accommodations: The trip price includes all hotel accommodations, in hotel rooms with private baths. Our standard is to provide the best available hotels while considering value. Although the level of the accommodations may differ slightly from hotel to hotel, we are committed to your comfort. Standard-size rooms are generally smaller outside of North America. They usually accommodate two people and include either one queen-size bed or two single beds (pushed together and made up separately, but with one headboard). While some hotels provide an extra bed in a standard-size room for use by a child under the age of 12, we recommend that families of four or more should book adjoining or connecting rooms.
  • Meals are included as specified in the itinerary.
  • Tour Educator or Guide: All trips are conducted by our tour educators or local guides who remain with the group throughout the tour.
  • Gratuities Included: All gratuities for restaurant staff at group meals are included.


  • Transportation in the evening when dinner is on own.
  • Amendments to the program: In the event that any sites, programs or meals etc are added to the program, an additional fee may be required.
